WiFi has alot of history sourounding it. From Hedy Lamarr’s WWII-era “frequency hopping” patents to Australian scientists repurposing radio-astronomy math to solve indoor signal echoes, Wi-Fi’s journey involved turning once discarded “junk” radio frequencies into a standardized global language that exploded into the mainstream after Steve Jobs famously used a hula hoop to prove a laptop could surf the web without wires, ultimately evolving through generations of speed increases to become the most important utility that powers nearly every piece of technology we have today. Below I found some great images that explain the history of WiFi with timelines and I also provided a video down below that explains every WiFi generation.
